Machine Basics

Before you begin, choose the right machine. If you are jus starting out, an inexpensive machine will be just fine. I used a Brother machine for about 15 years before I upgraded. It still sews!

Learn how to read a traditional sewing pattern before you begin your first project. If you start with a traditional pattern, PDF patterns are much easier to follow.
Sewing Tips
- Learn to thread your machine. Practice threading the machine over and over. Sewing machine problems are usually because the machine is not threaded properly.
- Always pull the thread out of your machine with the pressor foot in the raised position.
